AM Sports Media
What this application does
AM Sports Media is an internal application that manages the YouTube channel of the same name. It reads our channel's analytics, updates the metadata on our videos, and uploads the videos we produce. It is used only by us, on our own channel.
What the application does
AM Sports Media is a boxing commentary channel that publishes one or two videos a day. To keep up with that pace, we built this application to handle the production steps that used to be manual. Through the YouTube API Services it:
- reads analytics for our channel — views, watch time, click-through rate, and audience retention — so we can tell whether a video performed above our normal range;
- updates metadata on our own videos, including titles, descriptions, tags, and thumbnail images;
- uploads finished videos to our channel.
Who uses it
Only AM Sports Media. The application is not a product, is not offered to the public, and has no sign-up. The single Google account that authorizes it is the account that owns our YouTube channel. It never accesses data belonging to any other channel, creator, or viewer, and it collects no information about YouTube users.
